Experimental and Foundation Studies
I started at the Rhode Island School of Design the Fall of 2022 with the intention of majoring in Industrial Design. In freshman year the classes at RISD follow a core curriculum. There are three studios that all students take in both fall and spring semester: drawing, design, and spatial dynamics. In addition to these studios there is a first year literature course and a theory of art and design course. Following the first semester, students partake in wintersession, a six week intensive where students can explore classes outside of their majors. For the 2023 Wintersession I took, The Unpromised: Glass Troubles, which is a hot shop heavy glass blowing and hot casting studio.

Spring 2023 Drawing Final. A corset inspired by a set of vases in the RISD Museum's Pendleton House Collection. Made from bristol board, thermoplastic modeling material, spray paint, paint pens, pearls, and jewels.

Drawing abstraction assignment where I explored the abstraction of the body. Macro photos of the aging body were taken to show how we view aging bodies and beauty in comparison to the beauty we see in nature.
Fall spatial dynamics final project ideas and thought process. Made on Procreate.
Patterning for a corset I was laser cutting out of bending plywood. Made in Adobe Illustrator.

Fall spatial dynamics project hand cut and made of bristol board. The only glue used was to create the loops on top. Materials used: 11x17" bristol board and left over bristol.

Fall spatial dynamics assignment that challenged us to rethink a simple box we had made. Reimagined into a shoe that also functions as a box to hold small items.

Fall final drawing assignment to create a drawing about drawing. Materials used: 0.3 tip Micron pens and watercolor.

Part two of my fall final drawing project and is a page of a catalog detailing some of the elements in my drawing.

Fall design project about interpreting our rooms through reflections and abstraction. Materials used: Gouache on bristol board.

Fall design assignment to look at animals and plants under microscopes and illustrate them as closely as possible. I decided to study Jewel Beetles (O. Coleoptera F. Buprestidae) in depth. Materials used: Gouache on bristol board.

Spring 2023 spatial dynamics final. The goal was to create a container for a collection started at the beginning of the semester. Made of fluorescent red and green acrylic plexiglass.
